Work smarter in Photoshop CC – Content-Aware Move tool

The Content-Aware Move tool in CC is a brilliant way to edit, especially when you want to reposition elements to new locations in an image.

It’s a great way to perfect a composition and minimise the length of time you spend on retouching techniques – the less time you have to spend on post-production, the better your workflow will be.

Make a selection of the element that you want to move, then activate the Content-Aware Move tool and drag your selected item down to its new position.

Photoshop-automated cloning and healing will then fill the area that you leave behind. However, it’s important to be aware that some artefacts may be left behind so you might still have to do some slight retouching of the image.

Setting the correct Adaption option will also be beneficial. The From Very Loose option selects more from the surrounding area, whereas the Very Strict option will do the opposite.
