Make a box-based 3D advent calendar that’s perfect for hiding small gifts

Box-based advent calendar

Here we’ll learn how to create a box-based advent calendar that’s great for hiding candy or little presents and is great fun for kids to open. Grab some craft supplies and fire up Photoshop!

Step 1

Start with a square or rectangle the size of your choice. Duplicate the shape for the bottom of the box and add rectangles around as deep as you want the box. Decorate the top, and sides then add numbers, varying the shapes and sizes of the boxes.

Step 2

Decorate the top, and sides with stripe patterns then add numbers, varying the shapes and sizes of the boxes. Print each box on heavy cardstock so that the box holds up.

Step 3

Crease each edge of the shape. Then fold the squares at the corners of the box diagonally till the sides meet. Then tape them down and fold the top over to cover the box.
