Getty Images announces a new curated selection of high-quality images
Getty Images has officially announced the launch of Getty Images Prestige
; a new selection of the stock photo agency’s highest-quality imagery, as selected by in-house professional editors in Getty Images’ industry-leading creative research team.
To create the final curated selection, which is available to be licensed for exclusive commercial use, the team has explained they will be analysing image trends using their unique data from the millions of searches and sales carried out each year on www.gettyimages.com. These insights are then used to guide what is shot and edited for Getty Images Prestige – allowing for imagery from award-winning photographers such as Tim Flach and Ken Hermann to be more accessible than ever, without the costs and risks needed to organise a custom photo shoot. The photographers will also be continually capturing more Prestige images from all over the world.
The company has even gone on to say that Getty Images Prestige is a way to boost brands that are increasingly up against flat advertising mediums, tiny screens and shortened attention spans. “With the explosive growth in mobile technology and social networks, photos and videos – not words – have become the most popular way to share,” explained Paul Foster, Senior Director of Creative Content at Getty Images. “Imagery has become the most important method of communication – in a sense you can say that it is the world’s most spoken language. We have launched Prestige images now because brands, NGOs, publishers and consumers need to easily find and harness the power of truly exceptional visual content to differentiate, capture attention and meaningfully engage with their audiences.”
