In a surprising Photoshop CC update, Adobe showcases a full version of Photoshop running on Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 tablet

The revelation of the yet unreleased version of
Adobe’s Photoshop CC software took place as part of the
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet launch event earlier this week, when Adobe took to the stage to show off the new software.
Unlike the Photoshop Express or Photoshop Touch apps, this was a full Photoshop application, only with touch optimizations in place to be able to work on projects on the move. The update included the ability for users to zoom, pinch, pan and rotate with finger gestures; along with support for high-density displays and icons that were 200 percent larger to be able to interact with the UI much more easily.

Though currently only featured with the Surface Pro 3 tablet, this touch version of Photoshop should reportedly be able to work with any Windows 8 touch device, including
Wacom’s Cintiq Companion. So far, there hasn’t been an exact timeframe or a lot of information for when users can expect the introduction of the new touchscreen Photoshop CC, but
Adobe has advised to expect much more from this partnership in the near future.
