Wacom/fotocommunity contest

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Fancy winning a new Wacom tablet? Then this is the competition for you. Wacom has announced that it is partnering up with fotocommunity.com in this new event for all graphic artists and photographers in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The theme is ‘Two faces - one reality’ and you must send in two images: a ‘before’ shot and an ‘after’ shot. The first image is any image (this can be portrait, landscape, architecture… anything goes) and the second is a new interpretation of that image after digital editing, which can be as much or as little as you like. The prizes include a Cintiq 12WX (check out our review in issue 41 on sale 28 February), an Intuous3 A5 Wide and a Bamboo Fun Medium. The contest is open now, until 28 March 2008. So please bear in mind that images uploaded to the website during this time may not be approved immediately, and emails might go unanswered until the new year. However, I will try to log in over the holidays and check out your work and messages!

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Urbanplanet.co.uk (www.urbanplanet.co.uk), a website dedicated to breaking new acts in the music world, is calling for young designers, graffiti artists and artists to help it design a new logo.
I think that this is a great opportunity to get your skills noticed, so why not give it a go? The Design A Logo Competition is accepting entries until 1 February 2008. Simply email your GIF or JPEG file (retaining the original Photoshop file in case you are selected as a winner) to info@urbanplanet.co.uk. The entries will be displayed on the website so that other visitors can comment on their favourite entries, and these comments will be taken into account when the winner is chosen.
As well as a great addition to your portfolio, the winner will also get an Urban Planet goodie bag.
