Every month we set forum users a challenge and everyone is free to chip in and vote for the winner. The chosen image is then printed in the magazine!

Keep your eyes peeled for the new challenge later this week. It's a great way to flex those Photoshop muscles!

Vertus Fluid Mask 3

If your day to day Photoshop work requires you to carry out hefty masking jobs you may be interested to hear about the new version of Fluid Mask available from Vertus.

Previously available only as a public BETA in Windows Fluid Mask 3 makes easy work of masking awkward subjects such as human hair and tree leaves. Using slider controls you can switch between “Smart Blending” and standard feather bleeding.

Features of the new version include a “save settings” function that allows you to recall edge detection, blending and resolution options from previous editing sessions and a “patch” system that helps you to make changes in a selected region without affecting the rest of the image.
